Just when you think it wasn’t possible to add any more light bulbs, Shadrack Promotions found a way.

An 80-foot tunnel, a dozen stars and Christmas movies are all part of the attractions at this year’s Shadrack’s Christmas Wonderland at Field, home of the Myrtle Beach Pelicans.

Although there are new features, the route is still the same, as will be the Christmas spirit, said Richie King with Shadrack Productions.

Starting at dusk on Nov. 8, guests can drive their vehicles through a maze filled with hundreds of thousands of LED lights performing in perfect synchronization with the Christmas tunes playing over their radio.

This is the most entertaining mile and a half you’ll drive all year.

Shadrack hosted its first synchronized light show in 2007, and because of the tremendous response, has taken the show on the road. Christmas Wonderland in Myrtle Beach is one of only four shows of its kind in the world.

Winning every contest it’s qualified for, this spectacle takes light shows to a whole new level, integrating lights, music and movement with all custom built animated elements featuring 100 percent environmentally-friendly LED lights.

Some of the music is even arranged and recorded by the talented Shadrack crew.

The festivities don’t stop at the end of the drive-through route. Guests of the light show can stay and visit Santa’s Village where they can meet and have a photo with Santa Claus while enjoying festive refreshments and entertainment for children of all ages.

The wonderland begins with a 1.5 mile-trail in the ball field parking lot, beginning near the entrance to the field off Grissom Parkway and ending near the baseball stadium.

The display itself utilizes more than one million pulsating lights, all synchronized to holiday music. Songs like “Nutrocker” by the Trans Siberian Orchestra and “Dance of the Reed Flutes” are two tunes that people can enjoy.

The entire show is all driven by nine miles of electrical wire driven by more than 100 computers.

The price for a single car is $25.50 up to nine people. The fee for mini buses and larger vehicles is $40 for up to 35 people and $5 per person after that.

Making its South Carolina appearance at the Pelican’s Stadium, located at 1251 21st Ave. North in Myrtle Beach, Shadrack’s Christmas Wonderland is sure to become a Holiday tradition for years to come.
