Some folks plan their annual vacation trip to Myrtle Beach around it. Others get up before the crack of dawn to be the first in line to get in.

It’s the annual South Carolina Largest Garage Sale, taking place at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center on Sept. 8.

The annual sale draws thousands of bargain hunters to the convention center each fall. Many arrive before the doors open around 7 a.m. and linger until the vendors pack up what’s left by early afternoon.

Hundreds of vendors ply their wares offering everything from clothes to jewelry to electronics to one-of-a-kind collectibles.

According to Myrtle Beach city spokesman Mark Kruea, all of the indoor vendor spaces have been rented this year which will make for an even greater variety of bargains. Sellers begin applying for space shortly after each sale is completed.

This is the fourth year the garage sale has been held at the convention center. For years, it was held at the parking garage next to the former Pavilion site at the corner of Ninth Avenue North and Kings Highway.

The convention center is located at the corner of 21st Avenue North and Oak Street. For more details on the event visit The City of Myrtle Beach site here.
